The Crystal Heart is a story retold by Alan Shepard and illustrated by Daniel Joseph Fiedler.

Mi Nuong, the daughter of a great mandarin, hears an enchanting song from a singer who may be the man she is destined to marry. It is only that man and his lovely song that can cure Mi Nuong when she becomes ill. Written in elegant prose and visually told with stunning illustrations, this story from Vietnam reveals the power of expectations--and of words.

From the Bellybutton of the Moon, poetry by Francisco X. Alarcón and illustrations by Maya Christina Gonzalez.

Renowned poet Francisco X. Alarcón's fresh, new collection of 22 bilingual poems inspired by his touching recollections of childhood summers in Mexico.

With a poet's magical vision, Alarcón takes us back to childhood when he traveled with his family to Mexico to visit his grandma and other relatives. We travel with him in the family station wagon, across the misty mountain range to the little town of Atoyac. There, in the beloved town of his ancestors, we hear his grandma's stories, sample Auntie Reginalda's tasty breakfasts, learn about the keys to the universe, and take playful dips in the warm sea.

Ice Bear and Little Fox, story by Jonathan London and illustrations by Daniel San Souci.

Follow the adventures of a young polar bear in the first year away from his mother. In a beautiful but dangerous wilderness of ice, Ice Bear must learn to live alone. In his constant search for food, he must capture seals, avoid the huge bull walrus, and escape killer whales that stalk him through dark waters. But almost everywhere Ice Bear goes, Little Fox follows. In exchange for mealtime leftovers, the alert little companion keeps guard over his giant friend, and warns when trouble is near.
