Trina Robbins is the Guest Curator of this colorful tribute to the artists, authors, and characters who have been part of the comic book tradition. Trina has been writing and drawing comics since 1966. She edited the first all woman comic book, "it Ain't Me, Babe," and is the author of "The Great Women Superheroes," "A Century of Women Cartoonists," and "Women and the Comics." Entertainment Weekly (July 23, 1999) called "From Girls to Grrrlz, "entertaining and attractively designed."

Here's just a few tidbits from the exhibition ...

Story by Barbara Slate, art by Mary Wilshire and Trina Robbins. On this prophetic page, editor Hildy Mesnik (center / detail on right) tells the Barbie crew that the comic has been canceled. In the story it turns out to be an April Fools' joke, but the book was canceled a year later.
