World View: Landscape in Contemporary Art

Landscape painting is a very broad term. Traditionally, it describes the depiction of natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests. It can also cover the representation of the urban environment and, more broadly speaking, landscape may act as a background for figurative work where the narrative of the completed artwork relies upon the interaction of the two. The Sun Gallery is proud to present this beautiful show in all media and across genres.

An Entrance To Somewhere Else: Hidden Stories

“Stories are places. Stories are people. Everyone has a story. Our stories go in every direction, but sometimes, our stories join into one, and we are all connected, if only for a moment in time."
The Sun Gallery is interested in highlighting the unique stories that form the fabric our community, and is soliciting submissions from artists that work in all media and across genres. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film and digital design, this exhibition will explore how we visually construct our identities, setting ourselves apart while binding ourselves together at the same time.

DEADLINE TO ENTER: JUNE 1

June 19th — July 27th, 2013

The artist reception is planned for Saturday, June 29th, 1-4 PM.
